A waterproof silica gel has stronger mechanical strength and low fragmentation characteristics. Due to its insolubility in water and organic acid, it is widely used as adsorbent of water, acid and color in oil. It can also be used as acetylene adsorbent in the liquid air and liquid oxygen in gas -separation industry
